Manhole Permit Log

Legal

Terms of service

Last updated October 8, 2026

By creating a Manhole Permit Log account you agree to these terms. If you sign up for a utility or department, you agree on its behalf.

The service

Manhole Permit Log is a recordkeeping tool for confined space entry: permits, gas readings, gas meter bump tests and calibrations, and crew training. It is not legal, safety or regulatory advice and does not replace your written confined space program, your training provider, your gas meter manufacturer's instructions, or your state's occupational safety agency. The 24-hour bump test window, the acceptable atmosphere limits and the training checks are defaults that reflect common practice; standards, state rules and your meter maker's instructions differ and change, so confirm every requirement yourself. The app records what your crew enters. It does not measure the air, and it cannot make a space safe to enter. Your utility is responsible for every entry.

Your data

Your utility's records belong to your utility. Accessible records can be exported as CSV. See the privacy policy for what we store.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Manhole Permit Log available but cannot promise uninterrupted service, so keep a paper fallback for entries when the service or your phone signal is down, and any paper or backup records your regulator or insurer requires. The service is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms and will email account admins about material changes. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
